Our MissionReach Across Houston (RAH), a Christian faith based organization, was founded in 1992 to work with low-income members of the Greater Houston Community. RAH mission to individuals is to help them gain self esteem and skills needed to secure meaningful employment. It is our mission to provide practical assistance to people who want to change their lives. We do not provide cash assistance for rent or utilities. We do not distribute clothing or food, nor do we give food to the hungry, though all of these are noble callings. We help people help themselves by offering job training, employment placement assistance, spiritual guidance, and other tools that lead to self-sufficiency.
Our SolutionRAH was created with the understanding that people, usually through a series of poorly made decisions, and at times through no fault of their own, occasionally need help. Certain members of this community periodically may require assistance in paying bills or feeding their family, as they attempt to recover from a temporary set-back. However, when faced with long-term challenges, this type of assistance does not strike at the root of the problem. RAH was founded to intervene in the lives of Houstonians to provide other answers to negative societal paradigms through basic and technical education in a wholesome atmosphere. RAH provides long-term solution by providing employment skills and spiritual guidance. RAH combats the difficulties created by a lack of education, and, sometimes, a lack of direction and purpose in one’s life with its programming. Five different objectives form the foundation underlying programs and services offered by RAH: · Focus on low-income individuals in single and multi-family communities, · Provide a Spiritual Guide Post to enable people to make better choices, · Procure job development opportunities that foster economic success, · Provide a holistic approach to addressing an individual's needs, and · Stimulate public and private partnerships in the achievement of these goals. Our FacilitiesRAH is located at 9808/9810 Bauman Road, Houston, Texas 77076, a mile north of Loop 610E and I-45. RAH calls home an 18,500 square-foot facility with eight class rooms, a computer lab, several offices and an area that seats 100 for the church on-site. . RAH leased the property from 2003 to August of 2005, at which time, God enabled Benny Sanders, RAH’s Executive Director, to purchase the facility.Current Classes:We have classes for YOU at REACH ACROSS HOUSTON!
